Catching up!

Pumpkins. David Hayes, 2015.

The last three weeks haven't been the greatest...we all go through phases like this. In any case, keeping up with the Be Still_52 workshop lessons just wasn't high on my list. So...with a burst of "just get it done" the past two days, I did three separate set-ups and a marathon editing session. Got them done!

Pumpkins is the result of Week 37's prompt...set-up a vignette and use a banner of some sort. Not one who likes the typical burlap buntings, I elected to use some fronds along with pumpkins. I mean it is October!!

Doll Head. David Hayes, 2015.

Week 38's prompt was a bit moody...using "organics" like burlap, linen, etc. Sidelighting and all that. The unedited version of this image was pretty moody on its own...using Kim Klassen's preset, "Organic" made it even more so!

Sunflowers. David Hayes, 2015.

Last but not least, Week 39 reversed course and asked us to think light and airy. Wasn't really in the mood for this...put a bunch of glass objects in front of a backlit background...nothing. Until I added some sunflowers. Now who doesn't like sunflowers!?

All images where shot using my Nikon D90 DSLR and edited using Lightroom and Photoshop.

These recent still lives are very satisfying David. There's sort of a nineteen-thirties feel them. Crisp and cunningly composed...

Your images for the weeks 37, 38 and 39 are wonderful! They are all perfect done! I'm weeks behind, because of holidays :) Greetings Esther

I like your fronds as a bunting. I never did get around to doing this prompt because I didn't have an 'instant' bunting and I didn't have time to make one happen.
