Peace

Peace. David Hayes, 2014.

I created this awhile ago...don't know why I haven't published it before this. Maybe it wasn't time...until now. Happy Friday everyone!

What Does Love Have To Do With It?

What Does Love Have To Do With It. David Hayes, 2014.

Really? I mean...just ask yourself this sometime.

I had fun putting this one together! Nothing real was harmed in the creation of this image...all virtual. Habit forming actually....

Expedition

Expedition. David Hayes, 2014.

Looks like I've left "pure" iphoneography behind...at least for awhile. In this, my latest build, I think I combined 20+ layers, used four different apps and lots and lots of digital stock elements. Onward and upward...already gathering elements for my next project!!

Island

Island. David Hayes, 2014.

This is the last in this series...it was fun working with the same elements. I've also enjoyed putting layer upon layer together...building the image slowly. So different from my usual style of "shoot quick...minimum app-ing". A time and place for all of this...

Not Myself Anymore...

Not Myself Anymore... David Hayes, 2014

This is the second in the series I discussed in my last post...the same common elements from my stock files...more digital collage than photography. As with all the images in this series I used my iPad...a wonderful creative tool! Indeed!

Torn

Torn. David Hayes, 2014.

I continue to explore digital collaging using my iPad apps...can't call what I've been doing true iphoneography as I've been using elements from different stock files not of my making. No matter...it's still all good! Torn is the first of three in this series...trying out the same basic elements in different ways. Hope you like them!

Just One of Those Places

Just One of Those Places. David Hayes, 2014

More in the way of digital collaging...trying things out...learning as I go. Just one of those places in my mind...too much winter I suppose. A warmish spring day today...tomorrow more snow! Will it ever end?

Book

Book. David Hayes, 2014

A bit of app stacking going on in this one. A whole lot of digital collaging that's for sure. Different elements from different sources...some taken with my iPhone5 camera app...others from digital stock sources. I can't say this is a true "winner" but they can't all be I suppose. It was fun putting it together and I learned a few more things about layering. So I'll call it a "Process Success". How's that for a feel-good assessment!

Listen

Listen. David Hayes, 2014.

My Brittany puppy, Kaylee, is teaching me to listen. And of course, smell. She'll stop her running, prancing, and eating grass while we're out in the park...and just stand there...listening...and taking in the smells in the air. I've taken to do likewise. Now, my sense of hearing and smell isn't as good as hers...but there is always something there. It's a good thing to stop and listen. And smell.

Ms. Muffett (Recycled)

Ms. Muffet. David Hayes, 2012

Ms. Muffett. (Recycled), David Hayes, 2014.

This past week I was going through some of my image files when I came across Ms. Muffett. I first met her back in 2012 during a macro photo shoot in my studio when she "photobombed" the flower I was working with at the time. Figuring it was fate, I decided to rework this image...this time using the app, Stackables. Hence, Ms. Muffett. (Recycled).

I also have been putting a new app, PhotoMotion through its paces creating videos using my still images. Could resist making Ms. Muffett a video star...so here's Ms. Muffett. (Recycled) - The Movie.

Pomegranate Sunday!

Crazy weekend. Warmish and sunny on Saturday...then icy and snowy on Sunday. March is like that around here. Perfect time to do more shoots in my studio...trying different things out. Like what can I do with a pomegranate...

Here's one version...the source image run thru Etchings and then into iColorama. A pretty traditional approach...but not lots of "drama". And I like my still lives to have that!

So I took the Etchings version back into iColorama and played around with it's Brushes. Not too bad...

Went back to the first version and now did a little pulling and tugging at the edges. I do love the versatility of iColorama!!

Finally, I started with the Etchings version...and created this interesting version, again using iColorama's Brushes. Talk about drama!!

Can't say that I love any of these...but it was good fun on an icy Sunday afternoon!!
