"Bumped!" A new "installation piece"

Bumped by Cary

My daughter...Cary...who is an art major at Ohio University....had to create these figurines for an art class...last year...maybe the year before...hard to say. In any case, they came home with her this past summer and spent their time sitting in a back corner of our screen porch. Come this fall...when we brought everything in for the year...I noticed that they were starting to crack and parts peeling away. So I asked...as I was taking them down to the basement..."what are your plans for these?" And...as usual....got no answer. Over the holiday break I asked again... and again got no answer. So...I suggested that we put them outside and see what happens to them....sort of like the "decomposition project" that I did with paper structures over the summer. (Thank you again, Seth Apter for the idea!) She liked that...so here they are...standing in our backyard just behind our garden where they can be seen.  My plan is to take pictures of them anytime I see interesting changes...and post them. Could be interesting...and then again...

Bumped by Cary
Oh...just in case you were wondering why this "installation piece" is titled "Bumped"...well it's like this. One of the figures represents Cary...the other her sister, Melissa...and this is what Cary does to Melissa...she bumps into her and Melissa leans away...

THey are gorgeous.. I like how they are shaped in a organic... earthy kind of way. :)

They are...aren't they! I've looked at them for so long...that I hadn't seen that. Thanks! (I'll pass your comments on to Cary..she'll be pleased, I'm sure.)
