Well...moving into week 11 for the first Disco bundle(s) and week 10 for Barefoot Boy. The Disco bundles are looking "sadder" this week but not as much as Barefoot Boy. Take a look at the photos! Barefoot Boy is starting to not only sag in spots but also has developed a definite bow to itself. As I have stated in the past, I'm looking forward to taking this one down at the end of September to see what it looks like on the inside!!

I just posted a new Etsy Treasury called "Sum of Many Parts" that focuses on original collaged art. The whole process of collaging excites me...it's so "mysterious" on how a collage comes together. Sometimes there is a preconcieved notion before one starts...but the fun ones just come together! I always look to the narrative in a collage...what is the story it is telling? A collage works on so many different levels...so intriquing! Take a look at this treasury...a collage of collages as one commentator put it!

My photo, "Jar and Books" has been included in a new Etsy Treasury called "Night". There are some incredible photos in this treasury that are worth checking out...besides mine, of course! The link to this treasury is: http://www.etsy.com/treasury/4c3f50db92dc6d917a0cb653/night.

This book is getting saggier and moldier and looking more and more -- wonderful! Each passing week finds this bundle taking on decomposition with a flair. I don't know where the slug went...wasn't there when I took these pictures so it could be anywhere! More rain and hot weather in the forecast for the upcoming week...just what this bundle of decomp needs!!!
Last week had me contemplating moving this bundle to a different spot so that it might "weather" a bit more. My wife thought otherwise...and since she's always right, I left it where it was. Turns out, the weather we had this past week is really doing a number on this bundle right where it is! (Yes, I suppose this makes her right-- again.) Looks like the strings holding it all together are starting to sag so now I'm faced with the choice of letting it alone and hoping that it doesn't fall apart before September, trying to retie the strings or adding more strings to it. I think I'll leave it alone right now...

Over the week end we turned our sprinklers on to water the garden. It was in the early evening when we did this and dark when we finally turned the water off for the night. The next morning, while surveying the garden, I found "Barefoot Boy" on the ground! Apparently it had gotten too heavy from the watering for its wire hanger and fell. The book was real soggy, blotted, and misshaped for its fall...which is fun...but the real discovery came after I had put it back up. It was then that I discovered a visitor!! I watched it crawl from where you see it on the picture to the front cover. I haven't checked on it since then so I don't know if it is still on the book...or not! I'll check later....

How many of you watched the tv show, "My Living Doll" starring Julie Newmar? Come on, admit it. I just know that my brothers and I always hoped her sheet would slip off...never did. In any case, my newest Etsy Treasury is filled with some some very unique dolls.

The hot and humid weather we've been having is doing great things to this book bundle. It's swelling more and more...really bulging around it's strings and ribbons. The covers and ends of the pages are becoming moldy-er (?) and blotchy. On the front cover, the area around the feather is gathering leaves and if you look closely, there seems to be something interesting going on around the end of the feather. This area will be interesting to watch!!
Not much to say about this week's progress...everything just keeps looking more so...faded, tattered, frayed, shriveled....it's wonderful!
I'm considering moving this bundle to a less-sheltered area so that it can get more weathering. I have a couple of places in mind so I'm sure next week's posting will find the bundle in a new home. Stay tuned!
