Bundles of papers, boards, and various found objects all tied together with twines and wires...then left outside to "disintegrated"...then reconstructed into something else unanticipated. Sounded like a concept right up my alley! So when I read about Seth Apter's project, "DisCo" in the May/June 2010 issue of "Cloth, Paper, Scissors" I knew I had to give this a try! Today represents Day 1 of this for me and I hope to record the progress of my bundle for the next 3 or 4 months. What I will do with the resulting "disintegration" I'm not sure, but if it's something interesting then I plan to offer it on my Etsy site. My fingers are crossed...

To create my bundle, I pretty much followed the steps outlined in the magazine. I first treated my boards, created my paper bundles, tied them to the boards, wired the boards together, and hung the creation on the trellis that stands over my back deck. Now it's up to the elements over the next months to do their work! Each week I'll post an new entry showing what the bundles look like at that point. This should be stay tuned!  For more information about this project, check out Seth's blog at

Here are pictures of my completed "bundle" in its new home for the next 3 or 4 months:

The bundle looks wonderful Dave. Some really great ingredients. Now the wait begins! Can't wait to see what happens and then what you decide to create.
